I. Structure and Components
Core and Windings
The core is constructed from high-permeability cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets to reduce hysteresis and eddy current losses.
Windings are composed of conductor coils wound around the core and insulated using paperboard barriers and shielding layers. The insulation thickness increases with the voltage level.
Tank and Insulating Oil
The tank is welded from steel plates and filled with transformer oil, which serves as both insulation and cooling medium.
The insulating oil has excellent thermal conductivity, effectively dissipating heat generated during transformer operation and ensuring the temperature remains within safe limits.
Other Key Components
Include an oil conservator, insulating bushings, tap changers, and Buchholz relays, which collectively ensure the safe operation of the transformer.
